Westchester County devised a custom reception center software to bolster its overall disaster response plan.

Honored with a 2005 National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Award, this innovative Web-based system coordinates field care by tracking each patient's symptoms, vaccination or antibiotic administrations, release status, and hospital referrals in the event of a chemical, biological or nuclear emergency.

Families would be reunited more quickly during emergencies since the program helps locate individuals at various reception centers.
